2. SELF-DISCIPLINE. I love ice cream! It doesn’t matter what flavor they all taste so good on a hot summer day. I used to eat a bowl of ice cream three to four times a week. A couple years ago I was having some issues with dairy and I was advised to limit the amount I consume. I had to cut out my ice cream. Ouch! It was so hard to watch others eat that delectable treat in front of me. In my head I was saying it’s okay to have a little it shouldn’t hurt. Well, each time I did that I paid for it! I had to learn self-discipline. We are surrounded by persuasive marketing telling us that we deserve a brand new car or your kids will love you more if you buy this latest toy. It’s hard not to buy into this marketing. If you want to save for something that is important to you then you have to work at not giving into those persuasions. It takes self-discipline.
